About being an immigrant:

Here in Scotland, I got to know the winter snow, and the vibrant oranges and yellows of Autumn. I became accustomed to 20-hour long summer days, and winter nights that last until 10 am.

Here, I realised that when it's dark outside, it's important to look inside oneself. When the trees are bare, it's my imagination that continues to flourish. I realised that at 6pm life is indeed rose-tinted; and in January, when I leave my home in the morning the streets greet me dressed in glittering frost. In summertime we look outside, in wintertime we look inwards.
