What is Trópico Mortal?
to wilt in a perennial garden / to bloom in a desert
My work is inspired by the bittersweet experience of being a migrant, and thrives in contrast and contradiction. My illustrations balance the joy of discovery with the nostalgia of letting go.
(Trópico Mortal is also part of the lyrics of my favourite Shakira song)
